Analysis of Core Structural Details and Performance Advantages of Slewing Bearings

2026-08-24

As core fundamental components for heavy-duty rotating equipment such as construction machinery, lifting equipment and mining machinery, slewing bearings differ from ordinary bearings. They can withstand radial loads, axial loads and overturning moments simultaneously and serve as the key guarantee for the stable operation of rotating mechanisms on large-scale equipment. Their superior load capacity, rotation accuracy and service life rely entirely on refined and scientific internal structural design as well as rigorous manufacturing techniques, with every structural detail directly determining the equipment’s working condition adaptability.

Adopting an integral modular structure, slewing bearings consist of five major components: inner and outer races, rolling elements, spacers, sealing assemblies and lubrication systems, featuring a compact and highly integrated structure. The inner and outer races are forged from high-strength alloy steel with excellent overall toughness and deformation resistance. The core raceways undergo high-frequency quenching hardening and ultra-precision mirror grinding, delivering uniform hardness and high surface finish. This effectively solves common problems such as raceway wear, peeling, deformation and stalling under heavy loads. Meanwhile, toothless, internal-tooth and external-tooth structures are available to match the transmission and installation requirements of diverse equipment.

As the key load-bearing units, rolling elements are divided into steel balls and rollers, which adapt to precision light-duty and heavy-duty working conditions respectively to meet varied equipment load demands. Equipped with dedicated spacers that evenly separate rolling elements, the bearings avoid mutual friction, collision and deviation during operation. This ensures smooth and stable rotation, effectively reduces operating noise and component loss, and greatly improves overall rigidity and positioning accuracy. The unique multi-directional force-bearing structure endows the bearing with excellent anti-overturning and anti-impact performance, enabling long-term stable operation under high-intensity and continuous complex working conditions.

Sealing and lubrication structures are critical to extending the service life of slewing bearings. Adopting a dual sealing design combining labyrinth structure and wear-resistant sealing strips, the bearings effectively block the intrusion of dust, sediment, rainwater and corrosive moisture, making them suitable for harsh working environments such as outdoor sites and mines. The external standard grease nozzle allows convenient grease replenishment and forms a stable protective oil film between raceways and rolling elements to reduce dry friction loss. With comprehensive refined structural design, slewing bearings achieve high rigidity, high precision, low failure rate and long service life, providing stable and reliable operational support for all types of heavy-duty rotating equipment.
